PMOS (PCOS) Support

Personalised naturopathic support for hormone & metabolic health

PCOS / PMOS - Naturopath - Sydney & Australia-wide -

PCOS / PMOS - Naturopath - Sydney & Australia-wide -

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), also now referred to in updated medical literature as Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), is a complex hormonal and metabolic condition that affects many aspects of health including menstrual cycles, skin, energy, weight, mood and fertility.

You may see both terms used as the medical community transitions to the updated name.

If you have been diagnosed with PCOS or PMOS, or suspect your hormones may be out of balance, you might be feeling frustrated, confused, or unsure of what to do next. You are not alone and support is available.

My role is to help you understand your unique hormonal picture and create a personalised and realistic plan to support your overall health and wellbeing.

Common signs and symptoms

PCOS and PMOS can present differently for everyone, but common symptoms include:

  • Irregular or absent menstrual cycles

  • Difficulty ovulating or delayed ovulation

  • Acne or persistent skin breakouts

  • Excess facial or body hair (hirsutism)

  • Hair thinning or scalp hair loss

  • Weight changes or difficulty losing weight

  • Sugar cravings or energy crashes

  • Fertility challenges

  • Mood changes or low mood

You do not need to experience all of these symptoms for hormonal imbalance to be present.

My approach

PCOS and PMOS are not just reproductive conditions. They are hormonal and metabolic conditions influenced by multiple systems in the body including insulin regulation, inflammation, stress, gut health and nutrient status.

Because of this, I take a holistic and individualised approach.

Your consultation may include:

  • A detailed review of your symptoms and cycle history

  • Pathology and hormone testing review

  • Support for blood sugar balance and insulin regulation where relevant

  • Nutrition and dietary guidance

  • Gut health and digestion assessment

  • Stress and nervous system support

  • Functional testing where appropriate

  • Individualised herbal and nutritional support

The focus is always on realistic and sustainable changes that support your body long term.

PCOS / PMOS and fertility

PCOS and PMOS are one of the most common causes of irregular ovulation and can delayed fertility in some women.

If you are trying to conceive or planning to in the future, supporting ovulation, hormone balance and metabolic health can be an important part of preconception care.

My approach is teaching you how to understand your unique cycle, while supporting cycle regulation and overall hormonal wellbeing whether or not pregnancy is your immediate goal.

Understanding the underlying drivers

PCOS and PMOS are not the same for everyone. Different factors may be contributing including:

  • Insulin resistance and blood sugar imbalance

  • Androgen hormone imbalance

  • Stress and cortisol regulation

  • Gut health and inflammation

  • Nutrient deficiencies

  • Lifestyle and sleep patterns

Understanding what is driving your symptoms is key to creating an effective and sustainable plan.

Working together

I take a supportive and collaborative approach to care. I also work alongside your GP or specialist where needed, ensuring your care is well rounded and aligned with appropriate medical management.
